There’s no depth, the dialogue is sometimes a bit mundane
AniMat's Crazy Cartoon Cast: The New Normal (2020) is mentioned. I knew it couldn’t be on par with the quality of the films, but I didn’t expect it to be so mediocre. For a moment I thought it was an Amazon production, not HBO.
There’s no real special effects, and it feels a bit low budget
They’re not the right casting choices for some of the roles; not because the actors are bad, but because they’re not suited to the part. There’s a lot going on in the first episode and they jump from one scene to the next like they’re in a hurry. And some of the scenes make you wonder why they even bothered to do them.
I really hope it gets better
I’m not sure what camera they used, but the shots look very basic.
